D’Artagnan announced organizational changes that include the addition of three new positions and the creation of a new category management department. Scituate resident appointed to US Air Force, Military academies

Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, D-Boston, recently announced the nomination of Johann Johnson, of Scituate, for appointment to the United States Air Force and Military academies.

Johnson, the son of Tristan Johnson and Carol Clayson, is a senior at Scituate High School.

As part of his congressional duties, Lynch nominates candidates to the service academies each year.

“These candidates are the best of the best, and I am proud of their desire to serve our country," said Lynch. "The academies graduate leaders, who will guide our nation into the future, and the men and women, who attend the academies, are entrusted with the greatest responsibility — to serve and protect the United States of America.”

“Johann was highly recommended by his teachers at Scituate High School," said Lynch. "He is a remarkable young man, and we are fortunate that young people like Johann are willing to serve our nation.”

Lynch and his congressional liaison to the United States Service Academies, Bob Fowkes, examined each candidate’s record of academic, athletic and service achievements in addition to evaluating letters of recommendation. After a review process and a personal interview, Johnson was selected as someone whose scholastic record and community contributions elevated him to the top of a list of qualified candidates.

“There were many impressive candidates this year for the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Military Academy," said Lynch. "Johann stood out as a young man of keen intelligence and strong character. He is a wonderful reflection of his parents, Tristan and Carol. The Johnson family, the town of Scituate and the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts should be proud of Johann in this achievement.”
