Throughout his career, Congressman Lynch has been a vocal proponent for responsible gun control legislation. While it is important for citizens to maintain their Constitutional right to bear arms, it is just as important to safeguard the basic promise of security for our citizens by ensuring that weapons do not make it into the hands of those unfit to carry a weapon.
As a member of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, Congressman Lynch is committed to working with his colleagues to find commonsense solutions to prevent gun violence. Democrats in the House have worked hard to address these issues: most notably passing bills to require universal background checks for gun purchases, closing a loophole for buyers at gun shows and online, and extending the initial F.B.I. background check review period from three days to ten.
