Recently, a Congressional Delegation (CODEL) including Florida Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Massachusetts Democrat Stephen F. Lynch, and Pennsylvania Republicans Todd Platts and Jim Gerlach visited the Middle East on an information-gathering trip.

A C-SPAN videojournalist accompanied the CODEL as they traveled first to Kuwait for a day, then into Iraq for the next 2 days, meeting with U.S. and Iraqi military leaders in Fallujah, Baghdad, and Balad Airbase. The CODEL then traveled to Afghanistan for the final 2 days as they met with Afghani parliamentarians and government ministers, U.S. troops and aid workers, and local Afghani leaders in Jalalabad.

This was Congressman Lynch’s fourth CODEL to the region since the beginning of the war.
