Boston, MA - Today, U.S. Representative Stephen F. Lynch (MA-08) issued the following statement in response to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Chairman Glick's meeting comments in which he wrote "the Commission likely erred in siting the Weymouth Compressor Station where it did":
"I am greatly encouraged by Chairman Glick’s statement regarding the inadequacies and errors that were made in the siting and approval of the Weymouth Compressor Station," said Rep. Lynch. "Chairman Glick reaffirmed the central complaints of local officials and members of Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station (FRRACS) who were steadfast and outspoken in their opposition. The FERC Chairman’s position also reflects the same arguments that our Congressional delegation made during our efforts to stop the project. Hopefully this marks a turning point in the history of our efforts to decommission this harmful facility."
