Washington, D.C. — Yesterday, U.S. Representative Stephen F. Lynch, Chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security, issued the following statement after yesterday's terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan:
“I strongly condemn the vicious terrorist suicide attack at Hamid Karzai Airport in Kabul that killed almost one hundred people, including thirteen courageous U.S. service members and injured many others. These brave U.S. service members were part of our effort to locate and evacuate fellow Americans and Afghan allies from impending harm. As Americans we must keep faith with that mission to locate and safely evacuate every American citizen and loyal Afghan partner and leave no one behind. Very grateful for the heroic work of our men and women in uniform and State Department personnel who continue to help us locate and evacuate our people under dangerous conditions.”
